The annual Minneapolis ‘Red, White and Boom’ fireworks were cancelled; ‘Black 4th’ will be taking place this evening at US Bank Stadium with a silent march and fireworks.

Minneapolis, MN - Typical 4th of July festivities have been cancelled around the Twin Cities this year but there are multiple events going on in the racial justice realm.

A group is gathering at George Floyd Square in South Minneapolis for the ‘March for Liberty and Justice For All’ 4th of July protest. ‘Black Independence Day at the State Capitol - Right to Bear Arms’ took place earlier this afternoon. Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC) is hosting a bike, skate & rollerblade protest this evening to “demand fundamental change to the criminal justice system”.
The annual Minneapolis Red, White and Boom Celebration and fireworks were cancelled; ‘Black 4th’ is taking it’s place at US Bank Stadium this evening. There will be a silent march through the streets of downtown Minneapolis, food and fireworks.
