“I can’t wait to talk with you about our efforts in Congress and in Minnesota to legalize cannabis and implement restorative justice practices.” -Rep. Ihan Omar via Twitter
Minneapolis, MN - Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) plans a big push for cannabis legalization in upcoming “Coffee and Kulan” with Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Rep. Ryan Winkler (D-MN).
What is “kulan”? According to Omar, kulan means “meeting” in Somali.
Omar advertised the February 16th virtual meeting on her Twitter account. She also has a public event page set up on Facebook; with a current 123 users marked as "going" and another 526 marked as "interested".
Omar tweeted, “On February 16th, I’ll be hosting a ‘Coffee and Kulan’ discussion on cannabis legalization with Rep. Barbara Lee and Rep. Ryan Winkler. I can’t wait to talk with you about our efforts in Congress and in Minnesota to legalize cannabis and implement restorative justice practices." She continued in a second tweet, “P.S. for those that don’t know, 'kulan' means 'meeting' in Somali. This will be the first of many community conversations for the 117th Congress.”
